Nate Searle, MS, BCBA

Nate is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Nate’s addicted to the process of behavior change, the science he loves and using it to create effective and meaningful progress in students’ lives.  In 19 years he’s been given the opportunity to support numerous students with various disabilities and difficult profiles.  Nate is adept at analyzing behavior, putting effective interventions into place that bring about appropriate and functional change. He has worked in various capacities in British Columbia and the Yukon.  Nate is a Senior Associate with the Crisis Prevention Institute. Nate’s current areas of practice include the treatment of anxiety, supports for behavior change and counselling using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Bernadette Marzo, MS, BCBA

Bernadette Marzo is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst who designs and implements individualized Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) programs for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She obtained her Masters degree from Sage Colleges, Troy, New York, in ABA specializing in Autism and a Graduate Academic Certificate in ABA from the University of North Texas. She has been working with children with ASD and their families for over 15 years in the Lower Mainland. Her years of experience have offered her many opportunities to collaborate not only amongst her peers but also with other disciplines.

Michelle De Beer, MS

Michelle obtained her Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis from St. Cloud State University.  She has over 15 years experience in the field of ABA and ASD, gae training, supervision, and experience to a senior consultant level for 7½ years with the UK Young Autism Project (a replication site as part of the UCLA multi-site project) in London, England. Michelle has also published research on comparing teaching methodologies in the European Journal of Behavior Analysis. Since returning to Vancouver in 2011, she has worked with children and teens in the lower mainland and the Yukon. Michelle specializes in intensive home-based ABA programs and training staff and parents in behavioural techniques and principles to create lasting behaviour change.

Connie Ng, MEd, BCBA

Connie Ng is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who received her Master of Education with a concentration in Autism and Developmental Disabilities from the University of British Columbia.  She has been working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder for over 15 years in home-based programs based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.  She is a teacher for the Surrey School District and has been teaching in a classroom setting for over 10 years.  Connie is also a certified PEERS® provider for both the adolescent and young adult social skills training program.  Connie works in close collaboration with the family and other team members to successfully develop and implement technically sound and contextually appropriate support plans that improve student behavior and quality of life.

Maria Sample, MA, BCBA

Maria is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), with a Masters of Arts degree in Special Education from the University of British Columbia (Autism and Developmental Disabilities concentration). Maria has been working in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis with children with autism for over 10 years. The majority of Maria’s experience is in early intervention with preschool-aged children, but Maria also has experience supporting elementary, middle, and high school students. Maria is passionate about translating the science of behaviour analysis to create meaningful improvements in quality of life for children with ASD and their families. Maria’s masters’ thesis research involved comparing several strategies to teach receptive language to children with ASD. Maria has presented research at conferences locally and internationally, has published research in behaviour analytic journals, and has served on the board of the British Columbia Association for Behaviour Analysis and as a subject matter expert for the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. She has experience designing home-based applied behaviour analysis programs to manage problem behaviour, and teach social, communication, and self-help skills, for a variety of age ranges, profiles, and settings.

Andy Harrison, MS, BCBA

Andy Harrison is a Behaviour Analyst with over 10 years of experience working with individuals on the ASD spectrum. Andy earned a Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis from St. Cloud State University in May 2015 and became board certified in August of that year. Andy has worked with a range of students with various skill sets and levels of challenging behaviour. Andy is available to design home-based and school-based support plans for children, adolescents, and adults with challenging behaviour.

Ian Venables, MPEd, BCBA

Ian is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) with experience working in a variety of unique environments. His tour with behaviour analysis began in 2008 leading to unique teaching occasions in residential group homes, treatment homes, school districts, family homes, as well as operating intimate sport and social skill groups. Ian completed his Master’s degree in Professional Education, with concentration in Behaviour Analysis, from the University of Western Ontario, in 2015 and was certified in the Spring of 2018. Ian has a special interest in working with school-aged students, kindergarten and older, to promote the inclusion of members of the vulnerable sector in activity and sports-based environments. Ian is passionate about working in settings that offer a wealth of learning opportunities, branching across gross motor and physical development, self-management, and social skills, and offers services in Richmond, Vancouver, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, and Burnaby. When not promoting activity-based programming, Ian can be found in the mountains trail running, hiking, or at sea level playing volleyball, basketball, and tennis.

Stephanie Cordick, BA, BCaBA

Stephanie is a Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA) who holds a Degree In Applied Behaviour Analysis, specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Stephanie has worked within the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis for the past 8 years, implementing behaviour analytic programs in various home based, residential and community settings. Stephanie has an interest in working with younger and school-age children, 2 years of age and older, and has been given the opportunity to support numerous students, many with difficult profiles. Stephanie’s areas of interest include Acceptance and Commitment Training and Positive Behaviour Support for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Disabilities. Stephanie offers services in the areas of Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Surrey, Langley and Abbotsford.

Jen Ashlee, M.Ed., BCBA, Indigenous Behavior Consultant

Jen is a BC-based Indigenous Behaviour Consultant. She is Métis/Cree on her dad’s side and English on her mum’s. She currently resides on the traditional unceded territories of the Kwantlen and Katzie First Nations in Maple Ridge. Jen is passionate about incorporating the Indigenous Way of Knowing into her practice with children who are First Nations, Métis, or Inuit, and being an advocate for decolonizing therapeutic practices and systems we work within in Canada.

Jen has completed her Master of Education in Digital, Online and Distance Education at Athabasca University, her Applied Behaviour Analysis coursework through Florida Institute of Technology and is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). She considers herself a lifelong learner, with a current focus in listening to the neurodivergent community, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and trauma-informed practices. Jen’s approach places an emphasis on a holistic framework, relationship-centered services, parent-led supports, active collaboration, and naturalistic and child-led teaching.

Jen has worked supporting neurodivergent children and adults since 2012 in a variety of roles and settings including home-based programs, clinic-based programs, in schools, residential settings, adult day programs, sports programs and supported child development programs both in BC and in the Northwest Territories. Jen provides services in the areas of the Lower Mainland, the lower Fraser Valley, mid-southern part of Vancouver Island and online.

Jen has done work with the BC-ABA Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee and sat as the Student Representative on the BC-ABA Executive Board. In her spare time Jen enjoys yoga, nature, cooking, making art and spending time with her family and animals.

Elishia Merryweather, BA, BCaBA

Elishia Merryweather is a Board-Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA) and a certified Professional Crisis Management (PCM) Instructor dedicated to the safe, dignified, and effective treatment of challenging behaviour in children and adults with diverse abilities.  She began serving this population in 2009 after many years working with typically developing children.  Elishia advocates for her clients’ rights to freedom of choice and their access to the least restrictive environment possible.  Her current practice specializes in the Practical Functional Assessment (PFA / IISCA) and Skills-Based Treatment of Severe Problem Behaviour.  She also has expertise in the use of relational frames to develop complex and flexible language repertoires. Elishia offers services in Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Maple Ridge and Langley.

Casey O'Leary MS. ABA, BCBA.

Casey O’ Leary is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst who received her Master of Science in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Bangor University in 2015. She received her certification in June 2021. Casey has had the opportunity to support children and adults of diverse abilities since 2015, in a range of settings including family homes, day services, residential group homes and pre-schools. She is passionate about working alongside individuals to help them achieve meaningful change and gain a better quality of life. Casey has specialised in the delivery of positive behaviour support services to adolescents and adults over the past three years, working in close collaboration with individuals, families and other team members. Casey has a particular interest in supporting individuals to gain independence and expand the opportunities available to them by focusing on functional skills training, preparation for transitions/life changes, developing emotional regulation skills and social skills.
